Meet Daiki Naito, one of our dedicated engineers, and learn about his journey with us
◾️A Day in the Life of an Engineer Who Keeps Taking on Challenges
Mr. Naito joined the company in April 2022 and is primarily involved in architectural and structural design. Recently, he has been delegating drawing creation to office staff, while focusing on reviewing completed drawings and managing project schedules.
“My day starts at 9 a.m. After checking emails, I review the progress of ongoing projects and communicate with staff as needed. In the afternoon, I check design drawings and adjust schedules.
I usually write a daily report at 5:45 p.m. before leaving the office.”
◾️Rewarding Work and Challenges – A Workplace that Supports Growth
Mr. Naito finds his work most rewarding when his suggestions are adopted.
“When my ideas are reflected in a project, it gives me a great sense of accomplishment.”
Of course, he also encounters challenges:
“When I face something I can’t solve on my own, I start by researching and coming up with a possible solution. Then I discuss it with my supervisor to find the best path forward.”
This proactive attitude aligns well with the company’s culture, which supports individuals eager to learn and grow.
◾️Career Path and Vision for the Future
Mr. Naito shared his career progression:
1st Year: Learned the basics of drawing and legal checks
2nd Year: Gained practical experience in design management
3rd Year: Took on the challenge of team management
4th Year (Planned): Scheduled for a three-month supervisory assignment in Louisiana, USA
“My goal was to gain experience in the U.S. by my fifth year, and I’m grateful to be given the opportunity in my fourth. Through this overseas experience, I hope to improve my English skills and eventually lead large-scale projects by my eighth year.”
He has also passed the First-Class Architect Examination.
“Balancing work and study was tough, but with support from the company and through applying real-world experience, I was able to deepen my understanding. I now want to take on broader responsibilities using this qualification.”
◾️A Diverse and Supportive Work Environment
With many foreign colleagues, Mr. Naito’s workplace is global, where both Japanese and English are used daily.
“I used to feel uneasy about English, but after joining the company, I’ve found it refreshing to learn in a real-world setting.”
He’s also satisfied with the work-life balance.
“While there is some overtime, I can often leave on time and take paid leave flexibly.”
